a survey of 1,183 Americans to get at the negative consequences of vituperative
online comments for the public understanding of science."
I've learned not to bother with comments that are neither moderated nor hosted
by a community with a commitment to civil discourse. Sadly, that describes a
lot of comment sections - including most of those now offered by the "old
media".
