'For several years now, NASA has quietly had its own free streaming service
where you could watch live rocket launches, spacewalks, and other space-related
content.
The space agency's content is about to get a little more accessible, as NASA+
is teaming up with Netflix.
In an announcement Monday, NASA said that its live content will also be
available on Netflix starting this summer. This includes launches, mission
updates, live views of Earth from the International Space Station,
documentaries, and more. The additional content won't increase the price of a
Netflix subscription, which currently starts at $7.99 per month for the base
plan with ads.
The goal of this partnership is to make NASA's work in science and exploration
available to a wider audience, "allowing the agency to increase engagement with
and inspire a global audience in a modern media landscape, where Netflix
reaches a global audience of more than 700 million people," the announcement
said.'
